The Lake Marian Track is one of my favourite short day hikes in New Zealand. It has a great variety of dense forests, a flowing river and a grand view of a picture perfect alpine lake in front of a snow capped mountain.

The Grand Canyon Walk is a popular walk inside the Blue mountains National Park. On the 29th of July, i got a day off work and took advantage of the fact that most people will be busy at work or at school.
